Summer camp opportunities include eight local day camping experiences for Cub Scout-aged boys entering grades 2-5 and resident camp at Camp Carpenter's Cub World in Manchester for the same age group. Weekend programs for families with Cub Scouts are also available at Camp Carpenter.
Camp truly is the highlight of the cubscouting experience for many boys. Either Day Camp, Overnight Camp, or Akela Camping, the boys learn alot and have a great time.
While I leave the decision on what type of camp to send your son to up to you, I recommend that your son go to at least one of the camps.
Below I've compiled some information about the various forms of camping available. If you have any questions please contact me anytime. My email address is afitzgib@comcast.net and my phone numbers are h:603-595-7966 and c:603-765-4330.
Remember that cost should not elimate your son from going to camp. If you need financial assistance please let me know and I will work with you to provide your son a way to camp.
For more information on Camping please go to the Daniel Webster Web Site at: http://www.nhscouting.org/openrosters/view_homepage.asp?orgkey=1812
If you are sending your son with the Pack to Camp Carpenter please notify Aaron Fitzgibbons. If you are sending your son to Day Camp or Akela Camp please register online at www.nhsouting.org. Also please let Aaron know what camp you are sending your son to.
Happy Camping,

Camp Carpenter, located in Manchester, NH, is the home of Daniel Webster Council's Cub World. The Daniel Webster Council offers first-class resident camping opportunities to Cub Scout-age boys (entering grades 2-5 in September).
Resident camp is held in seven five-day sessions at Camp Carpenter Cub World. Boys may attend resident camp with their pack (this is called chartered camping) or individually (this is called provisional camping). Check with your pack's leaders to see which week your pack is attending resident camp and sign-up through your pack's camp coordinator. If your pack is attending on a week when your son can't go or if your pack isn't attending, you may register him as a provisional camper.
Camp Carpenter is also the home of Lawrence L. Lee Scouting Museum and Max I. Silber Library. Camp Carpenter is used by Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Explorers throughout the year for camping, training and many other activities. Off-season (non-summer) reservations for use of the camp can be made through the Daniel Webster Council Service Center.

Day Camps Around the State
Cub Scout Day Camps are open to boys entering grades 1 through 5 in September 2009 and are offered throughout the summer in various geographical areas of the state. This program, which runs Monday through Friday, offers a fun-filled week of challenging Cub Scout activities, exciting adventures and new friendships. Opening ceremonies start the day at 9:00 AM and camp closes at 4:00 PM.
Cub Scouts will participate in many types of activities including water activities, archery, BBs, field sports, nature, arts and crafts, Scout skills, and a variety of other events. All areas (especially archery, BBs and water activities) place a special emphasis on safety procedures. Each week has a Family Day complete with awards and a campfire or ceremony in the afternoon. Cub Scouts may register for any day camp session, regardless of which district they live in.
*TIGER CUB PROGRAM: Boys entering grade 1 in September 2009 may attend Day Camp as Tiger Cubs. Each Tiger Cub must be registered in the Boy Scouts of America and attend Day Camp with an adult partner. The Tiger Cub adult partner does not need to pay an additional fee.
Volunteer For Staff
To insure a successful Day Camp program for our Cub Scouts, volunteers are needed to staff program areas and guide the Cubs through each day's activities.
If you volunteer and are selected, your son (1) will attend a week of Day Camp for the deposit price of that day camp! Volunteer staff will be expected to assist with Day Camp set-up and take down. Please note that adults that volunteer as den leaders may not be in the same den (group) as their child.
Volunteers should complete a volunteer application and health form and submit it along with your son's registration.
Volunteer Staff Training attendance is required (if not taken last year) by attending one of the two dates at Camp Carpenter, to be scheduled. You will also be required to attend an orientation conducted by the Day Camp Director at the Day Camp(s) you serve as a staff volunteer (this is mandatory for all day camp volunteers).
Tag-a-long Program
A special 'Tag-A-Long' program area is available, at no charge, for staff volunteers who need to bring their son’s non-Cub Scout siblings to camp. The area is staffed by a responsible adult and staff who have planned activities for the children. Tag-A-Longs must be at least two years old and potty-trained.
Additional Information
An individual registration form and health form should be completed for each camper along with the deposit or full payment for camp. Prior to your son’s session, you will receive a packet with specific information about your Day Camp, including what your son should bring (and not bring) to camp.
